Members of UK dealer group Officepoint have welcomed the group’s series of regional meetings about ink cartridges. Steven Dineen of Newry-based Dineen Office Supplies comments: "I think that the regional meetings about ink cartridges are a very constructive and beneficial exercise that allow members not only to get up to speed on what is happening within the market, but also exchange Ink Cartridge views as to how the group is performing and how it could be improved. Polycom, the supplier of interactive voice, video, data and web communications, has sold its network access product line to Verilink Corporation. The sale includes all fixed assets and intellectual property rights to the NetEngine line of integrated access devices. A leading supplier of WAN access solutions, Verilink paid Polycom $1 million at the closing of the agreement and will pay an additional $250,000 one year after the closing of the deal and up to $1.75 million in quarterly payments based upon 10% of the sales of the NetEngine products. In addition, Verilink has agreed to purchase Polycom's NetEngine related inventories on an as-needed basis. The value of such inventory as of the closing date is approximately $1.9 million. Verilink says the acquisition will allow it bring a broader range of Voice over Broadband solutions to its reseller partners and customers. This deal does not include the ink cartridges for the colour printer. These ink cartridges will be sold for a profit if they are not used firat of all.

Consumables and ink cartridge supplier UFP has launched its latest e-shot campaign facility to the trade. Marcomms & E-Business assistant Nick Gabe says the consumables and ink cartridges e-shot is designed to provide customers with special offers directly into their in-box. It is linked to UFP’s web site and allows customers to access offers at the touch of a button. It will send out exclusive weekly offers and promotions for ink cartridges and consumebles supported by many of the main manufacturers.
